The Assistant Chief Steward is responsible for supervising stewarding colleagues, maintaining equipment and facilities, controlling operating supplies, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards, food safety requirements, and health and safety regulations. Key Duties and Responsibilities Managing the daily operations of the Stewarding team and ensure smooth support for all Food & Beverage outlets and culinary operations. Supervise, coordinate, and allocate daily tasks to Stewarding colleagues according to operational requirements. Ensure all kitchen areas, F&B back-of-house areas, equipment, utensils, crockery, glassware, and cutlery are maintained in a clean, hygienic, and orderly condition. Monitor and ensure proper cleaning, washing, sanitizing, and storage procedures are followed at all times. Ensure sufficient availability of clean crockery, cutlery, glassware, kitchen utensils, and operating equipment for all outlets and functions. Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, stewarding areas, garbage disposal areas, loading areas, and other back-of-house facilities. Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene, sanitation, HACCP, food safety, occupational health and safety, and environmental standards. Ensure all dishwashing and cleaning equipment is operated correctly and maintained in good working condition. Report equipment breakdowns, maintenance requirements, safety hazards, and operational issues to relevant departments. Coordinate with Engineering for preventive maintenance and repair of stewarding equipment and facilities. Monitor and control the use of chemicals, cleaning materials, equipment, and other operating supplies to minimize wastage and maintain cost efficiency. Ensure proper garbage segregation, disposal, recycling, and waste-management practices in accordance with hotel standards and local regulations. Assist in training, coaching, and developing Stewarding colleagues on cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, equipment handling, and safety practices. Ensure all Stewarding operations comply with Avani+, Minor Hotels, and hotel policies, standards, and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent qualification. Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field is an advantage. Minimum 3 years of experience in Stewarding operations, preferably within a hotel or international hospitality environment. Previous experience as a Stewarding Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Steward, or similar supervisory role is preferred. Experience in a high-volume hotel, restaurant, banquet, or large-scale F&B operation is an advantage. Knowledge of hotel kitchen operations and stewarding procedures is highly desirable. Good knowledge of kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, sanitation, hygiene, and waste-management procedures. Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, occupational health and safety, and chemical handling. Strong supervisory and team-coordination skills. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. The Pastry Chef is responsible for leading pastry operations across two properties, developing and delivering creative, high-quality pastry, bakery, and dessert offerings that align with brand standards. This position ensures consistent product quality, presentation, and operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, quality control, and cost and waste management across both properties. The role also drives culinary innovation by creating new pastry concepts inspired by market trends and guest preferences, while coaching and developing pastry teams, identifying high-potential talent, and supporting succession planning to build a strong and sustainable pastry operation. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Over 5-10 years of pastry experience in luxury hotels or high-volume hospitality operations, including at least 3 years in a senior role. Experience managing pastry operations across multiple outlets or properties. Expertise in pastry, bakery, chocolate, confectionery, plated desserts, artisan breads, and showpiece creations. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with the ability to drive innovation and maintain brand standards. Knowledge of food cost control, production planning, inventory management, waste reduction, HACCP, and food safety standards. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Professional certifications, competition achievements, or industry awards are an advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel inventory, purchasing, and recipe management systems. Good command of spoken and written English. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that you fully understand the business strategy and positioning of the AVANI brand, and that you are able to effectively articulate this positioning in the marketplace. Maintain a personal up-to-date knowledge on all AVANI+ product and service offerings, and the products, services, rates and new developments of key competitors, and an awareness of general industry trends. Maintain an updated information on brand websites, Handy, Factsheet, presentation, etc. Assist the corporate Marketing team in all marketing projects. Create marketing collaterals according to brand standard – signage, advertisement, flyers, etc. Maintain and continually improve the hotel library of photography, video and other electronic media. Achieve all personal performance objectives, working with department leadership to ensure these objectives are met. Practice effective cost control and adhere to internal procedures for approval of expenditure. Liaise effectively with all operational colleagues, providing support and information to ensure accurate delivery of our promise. Ensure that all paperwork associated with the work of the department is processed quickly and efficiently, including letters, emails, and reports. Assist in establishing and maintaining client databases, and using those databases in promotions and marketing campaigns. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Marketing Communications, Brand Marketing, Public Relations, or Digital Marketing, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, or luxury/lifestyle industry. Experience in an international hotel brand is preferred. Proven experience in planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns. Technical Skills Knowledge of digital marketing channels, including social media platforms, website content management, email marketing, and online advertising. Experience creating and managing marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, advertisements, signage, and promotional materials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva is an advantage. Basic knowledge of photography, videography, and digital asset management is preferred. Ability to analyze marketing performance and competitor activities. Knowledge of current market trends, competitor analysis, and consumer behavior. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
