About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and shape the people function at KAIA Koh Phangan through both pre-opening and operational phases. This role is responsible for building thoughtful HR foundations, supporting team culture and engagement, and ensuring people practices align with Thai labor law, operational needs, and the spirit of KAIA.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening
- Lead recruitment and hiring in partnership with Department Heads and Corporate HR to support pre-opening, soft opening, and full operations.
- Implement the approved manpower plan and organizational structure.
- Support onboarding and orientation to ensure employees understand KAIA’s culture, service philosophy, wellness focus, and sustainability commitments.
- Adapt and implement Group HR policies and procedures in compliance with Thai labor law.
- Establish HR systems, personnel records, payroll coordination, and attendance tracking processes.
- Manage the pre-opening HR budget and coordinate employee benefits and HR-related setup activities.
Resort Operations
- Oversee daily HR operations, ensuring compliance with Thai employment legislation and internal policies.
- Manage employee relations, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling with fairness, care, and professionalism.
- Support payroll coordination, workforce planning, and labor law compliance related to working hours and overtime.
- Oversee visa and work permit processes for expatriate employees.
- Lead performance management, employee engagement, communication, and recognition initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR reporting.
- Support Health & Safety, welfare initiatives, CSR activities, and local community engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within a hotel or resort environment.
- Pre-opening experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Thai labor law, social security, and immigration/work permit processes.
- Native Thai speaking and able to professional in English.
- Proficient in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.

This role is responsible for shaping KAIA’s culture, service philosophy, and guest experience standards through thoughtful, practical, and engaging learning programmes that support both employee growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening
- Develop and lead the resort’s pre-opening training strategy, onboarding journey, and operational readiness programmes.
- Translate KAIA’s values, guest journey, and service philosophy into practical training experiences and service behaviours.
- Partner with Resort Leadership, HR, Operations, and Department Heads on recruitment, onboarding, training plans, and soft-opening preparations.
- Coordinate training logistics, simulations, operational rehearsals, and learning materials across departments.
- Adapt training content to the local resort context and support Train-the-Trainer initiatives for leaders and departmental trainers.
Resort Operations
- Identify training and development needs through guest feedback, operational reviews, and collaboration with Department Heads.
- Design and deliver engaging learning programmes using coaching, workshops, on-the-job training, simulations, and e-learning.
- Drive KAIA’s service culture and guest experience standards across all departments.
- Support leadership development, performance improvement, succession planning, and employee growth initiatives.
- Maintain training records, monitor learning effectiveness, and continuously improve programmes based on operational needs and guest insights.
- Manage training budgets, learning tools, and external training partnerships where required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a luxury hotel or resort environment, including at least 2 years in a Learning & Development leadership role.
- Pre-opening experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in luxury, wellness, experiential, or island resort environments is an advantage.
- Native Thai speaking and professional in English.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the resort’s engineering operations across both pre-opening and resort operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, sustainability, and long-term care of KAIA’s infrastructure, utilities, landscaped areas, and technical systems, while fostering a culture of craftsmanship, preventive maintenance, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening
- Support the setup, testing, and commissioning of all engineering systems and infrastructure.
- Develop preventive maintenance programmes, emergency procedures, and maintenance tracking systems.
- Recruit, train, and lead the Engineering team in alignment with KAIA’s standards and values.
- Support budgeting, supplier coordination, and service partnerships, including landscaping and pest control providers.
- Implement sustainability, energy, and water conservation initiatives from pre-opening onwards.
Resort Operations
- Oversee day-to-day engineering, maintenance, utilities, landscaping, and pest control operations.
- Ensure all facilities, systems, and equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Lead preventive maintenance, contractor management, inventory control, and compliance processes.
- Manage engineering budgets, operational reporting, and safety, fire, and emergency systems.
- Lead and develop the Engineering team while supporting sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a senior engineering or facilities management role within hospitality or resort environments.
- Pre-opening experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in island, remote, outdoor, or tented resort environments is an advantage.

Responsibility
